Assistant Provincial Grand Master
WBro Gary Horstman PSGD
Masonic Career History
As my father was a Mason I joined his Lodge in Dukinfield, The Lodge of Good Fellowship in May 1984 progressing through the Chair in 1993 and 2006, then taking on the role of Director of Ceremonies of the Lodge. In 1996, I was appointed to Provincial Grand Steward, being appointed Deputy Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies in 2001. I was invested with Grand Rank in both Craft and Chapter in April 2007 and promoted to Past Senior Grand Deacon and Past Grand Sojourner in April 2017.
Currently I am a Member of two Lodge’s, three Chapters and eight additional Degrees, being Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies in one Degree and having been Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies in two Degrees, holding Grand Rank in four Degrees.
Other Interests and Information
From an early age sports have been the driving force in my spare time, work and Masonry of course taking up the majority of my days. However, the early years saw me swimming for the North West of England, Trampolining in National Championships, then hang gliding, canoeing, windsurfing, scuba diving all became the weekend pursuits, progressing into hill walking, completing the Three Peak event three times and the Coast to Coast walk to raise funds for the last Festival.
With three children and six grandchildren, sports have taken a back seat to babysitting and playing games.
